Small Interactive Animation
Interactive animation is one of my main interests. I believe animation brings soul to a webpage and helps users feel more engaged. Small interactions can turn a static page into a more lively and memorable experience. To explore this, I started working with Rive, a tool for creating interactive web animations. I created several small experiments to learn how interaction works and where animation can be used meaningfully in web design. Page Not Found – Kinetic Typography: In this project, I experimented with kinetic typography. I first designed the animation in After Effects and then applied the motion to the web, turning a simple “Page Not Found” screen into a more expressive and engaging experience. Flower Vending Machine – Onboarding Animation: As part of a redesign concept for a flower vending machine in Utrecht, I added subtle animations to the onboarding screens. The goal was to make the interface feel more friendly and help the content stand out without overusing motion. “MO” – Personal Interactive Animation: This personal project explores emotion through interaction. The animation represents my name, “MO,” with two feelings: stress and happiness. When users hover, the interaction becomes stronger and changes the mood of the animation. These experiments helped me understand the power of interactive animation in web design. I believe users enjoy interaction, and thoughtful motion helps websites feel more unique, human, and less repetitive.
