Student Sport website

Leeuwarden Student Sport is an organisation that offers a wide range of sport classes for students. Students can join a free session and continue if they enjoy it. However, the previous website had usability and communication issues, which made it difficult for students to understand the offer. This motivated me to redesign the website. This was my largest project and took around six months to complete, with more than six iterations of wireframes and UI design. It was a full website redesign, covering structure, user flows, and visual design. The main goal of the redesign was to reflect the brand’s core values in a clear and engaging way. Based on my research, the key values were fun, friendliness, community, movement, and energy. I translated these values into the design by using real photos of diverse students to show inclusivity and community, animations and micro-interactions to express movement, and bold colours and typography to highlight the sporty character of the brand. From a UX perspective, I focused on simplifying the user journey and making information about memberships, free trials, and events easier to understand. I am proud of this project, and I am happy to say that my design has been implemented and is now live on the Leeuwarden Student Sport website.
